A TEENAGER had to be flown to hospital after plunging 20ft from a railway bridge.
The 15-year-old, from Durham, suffered back and pelvis injuries after falling from the bridge at Sherburn, Durham, yesterday at about 11.45am.
He was treated at the scene by medics before being airlifted to Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary.
A Great North Air Ambulance spokesman said: “He had been walking along the top of the bridge and lost his footing and fell.
“He was fully conscious by the time we got there, but was complaining about back pain so we took him to the RVI.”
His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
