AN ONLINE guide to summer events has been launched to help families have fun during the holidays.
The Young Activities pages aim to help people make the most of time together and is being run by Durham County Council’s Early Intervention Service.
Paul McGinnerty, its commissioning manager, said: “In this Olympic year everyone is looking for fun activities to keep them active and we found that families had a headache when it came to finding out what was available in County Durham and then had trouble working out how to get there.
“We’ve pulled all of the handy websites together to make the information, as well as transport links, more accessible with just one click.”
It includes the Area Action Partnerships based through out the county, the Young Durham Facebook page and sports and culture clubs.
Other suggested days out include events linked to the Brass festival, which ends on Sunday, sessions laid on by the Children’s Network, which supports disabled children, sport activities put on by County Durham Sport and getting involved with Durham Music Service.
Tourism website This Is Durham, the Outdoor and Sustainability Education Service and leisure centres based across the county are also linked to the page.
It can be found at www.durham.gov.uk/youngactivities
