NEW mothers and mums-to-be helped celebrate the launch of a new services in two communities.
Baby Café is a national network of breastfeeding drop-ins, combining breastfeeding information with a relaxed environment where mothers can chat and learn about breastfeeding from skilled practitioners and each other.
This week new cafés were opened at Howletch Children’s Centre, Peterlee, and Seaham Children’s Centre.
Health Visitor Louise Gosling said: “We are thrilled to launch two new Baby Cafés in Seaham and Howletch.
“The cafés build on the success of two long-standing breast feeding groups already established in those areas.
“We recognise that breastfeeding isn’t always easy, being part of the Baby Café initiative means that we will be able to provide an even better level of service and support to breastfeeding mothers.”
Other areas are being identified to host further Baby Cafés.
