Stuart Forster’s blog is the cream of on-line food writing.
His site www.go-eat-do.com has been picked as one of Britain’s best for the discerning virtual foodie.

International discount website rebateszone.com has selected it as one of the 50 best British food blogs and Stuart is one of three people shortlisted for the national Independent Blogger of the Year award.
Stuart, 43, has been working as a freelance travel writer for years and decided to set up the blog after finding himself with more material than he could use and despairing at seeing it go to waste.
“I was travelling a lot and getting lots of good answers from people,” he said.
“I couldn’t always use all the material I was getting hold of for the stories I was being commissioned to do.
“I was finding all these other stores that I could have been telling and I didn’t have any outlet, so I decided to set up my own blog.”
Stuart grew up in Herrington and went to Farringdon School before being bitten by the travel bug. He is now back home in Raby Drive, but still travels the world regularly.
“I have always written and travel was a passion, so the two went hand-in-hand,” he said.
“I guess I started when I lived in Germany and India for some time - that’s really when I became interested.”
He is delighted to have been shortlisted for the Independent Blogger of the Year competition, but doesn’t know how it happened.
“I am not entirely sure where that has come from – it is just nice to see that people are paying attention to what you do,” he said.
Even though the blog gets thousands of hits, Stuart admits it can be a lonely business and positive feedback means a lot.
“A lot of the time, running a blog does not get acknowledged, so it is great to be shortlisted for a national award,” he said.
