SUNDERLAND stars helped raise more than £20,000 by feeling the heat with a top TV chef.
Phil Bardsley, Adam Johnson and John O’Shea swapped their strips for aprons and took orders from world-renowned chef Marco Pierre White at a special event held at the Stadium of Light.
Marco’s Black Cats Kitchen saw the three players create one course each under the scrutiny of the celebrity chef, which was then served to an audience of about 250 hungry diners.
Adam’s prime Northumberland fillet steak, served with a peppercorn sauce, dauphinoise potatoes, baby corn, baby carrots and asparagus spears was voted best course of the night.
Gary Huthcinson, SAFC commercial director, said: “It was a fantastic evening.
“The players really put a massive effort into this.
“Marco was a hard taskmaster, but they all rose to the occasion and everyone had a brilliant night.”
An auction in aid of Sunderland AFC’s registered charity, Foundation of Light, also raised more than £20,000 on the night.
