A TRIO of Black Cats players met hundreds of football fans at a festive signing session.
Sunderland’s Carlos Cuellar, Jack Colback and Simon Mignolet appeared at the SAFC store in The Galleries, Washington, where supporters could meet them and get their signatures on club merchandise.
The Wearsiders face two massive home games in the coming week, with Chelsea the visitors on Saturday before Premier League new boys Reading come to the Stadium of Light on Tuesday evening for a rearranged fixture.
Martin O’Neill’s team are just one place from the relegation places following a dismal run of form.
Goalkeeper Simon, who has been in outstanding form between the sticks this season, said of the event: “The turnout was fantastic and I’d like to thank everyone for coming along.”
He added: “I know some people queued for a long time and we really appreciate that.”
Fans have the chance to meet other players at 4pm today at the SAFC shop in Debenhams, The Bridges, in Sunderland city centre, where club skipper Lee Cattermole, Craig Gardner and Adam Johnson are due to appear.
