SHOP staff embarked on a fund-raising drive in aid of a life-saving hospital team.

One Stop, in Blind Lane, Silksworth, raised £1,223 for the Children’s Heart and Lung Transplant Association, at the Freeman Hospital, in Newcastle. The convenience store held a raffle, tombola and cake sale as part of the two-week campaign.

Manager Lisa Dale said: “We want to thank all of our customers for their support.

“The store holds quite a lot of these kind of events for charity and they never let us down.

“The hospital was also very grateful for the donation.”
