THE seafront will be awash with super-fit competitors for the 20th annual Sun City Triathlon.
Competitors will brave a 750m open water swim in the North Sea at Seaburn, before getting in the saddle for an 8km bike ride and pounding the pavement for a 5K run along the Coast Road.
Dozens from the across the North East are expected to compete in the event which takes place on July 14 from 7.30am.
Sun City Tri committee member Graham Prior said: “It’s a great event and we usually have a lot of people supporting us from the sidelines. It’s a running start so to see everyone running into the North Sea together is a great sight. We’ve capped entries at 150 and are hoping for at least 100 competitors. No roads are closed but it’s a really well marshalled event.”
