A POPULAR religious band will soon be making music in the capital.

The Sunderland Monkwearmouth Salvation Army Band is heading to London’s Royal Albert Hall to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of General William Booth’s famous “I’ll fight” speech.

Member Gordon Quinn said: “The Sunderland Monkwearmouth Corps of The Salvation Army today continues with this mission, as they continue to fight injustices in this world and in Sunderland.”

On Sunday, June 10, the band will play on Seaburn seafront from 12.30pm, weather permitting.
