FOOTBALLERS will become fashionistas tomorrow night at the Stadium of Light.
Sunderland AFC’s Foundation of Light is set to benefit once again from the Fashion Strikes event on Wearside.
A number of members of Martin O’Neill’s first team will hit the catwalk for the show.
The Foundation is the registered charity of the Black Cats and works with more than 40,000 people every year through educational, sport, community and family activities.
The organisation is independent of the football club and relies on fund-raising for 95 per cent of project costs.
Striker Fraizer Campbell, who joined Sunderland in 2009 from Manchester United, said: “I’ve done it a few years running and it’s always fun.
“That said, there is a serious side too and we hope the event raises a lot of money for the Foundation so that it can continue with the fantastic work it does throughout the region.”
Guests at Fashion Strikes will enjoy a three-course meal courtesy of caterer 3663 at the James Bond-themed black tie event, which also features musical entertainment from acts including X Factor finalist Carolynne Pool.
Susan Justice, regional account controller from 3663, said: “We’re very proud to be able to support the Foundation of Light by sponsoring their exciting Fashion Strikes event by providing a range of exciting cuisine for their guests.
“It’s important that 3663 continue to support the communities in which they operate, and as a charity the Foundation of Light offers exactly the type of opportunity that we’re looking for.”
A limited number of tables are available for the bash, and can be bought by contacting Kim Phillips on 551 5365 or emailing email@example.com.
