A PASTOR is aiming to sing the good word about music in the city.
Michael Bradley has run acoustic guitar clubs around the country.
Now the pastor, who has moved to Sunderland to bring life to Bethesda-Ford Mission, Ford Estate, is hoping to share his passion for the instrument with music lovers in Sunderland.
The Californian, who moved to Britain in 1999, is starting an acoustic guitar club at the church on January 22.
He said: “The aim is to encourage players to develop their skills, and give them the confidence to perform, hopefully. It will be a friendly atmosphere, because that is the first step to encouraging people to play.”
The group will include a 30 minute lesson, and time for refreshments, as well as time for people to perform.
It will take place every other week, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm, until the summer, with the hope of putting on a concert for family and friends at the end of the end of the course.
The club is aimed at beginners and intermediate guitar players aged 16 and over. There is a suggested £4 donation.
