A NURSE accused of threatening to have a patient pinned down faces an anxious wait after her misconduct hearing ran out of time.

Norma Murwira allegedly told him: “‘If you don’t shut up, I’ll have you dragged into another room, restrained, pinned down and I’ll inject you.”

She was working at Cherry Knowle Hospital, Ryhope, at the time in October 2007.

Murwira is also said to have blocked the taxi of a frail, wheelchair-bound patient, referred to as Service User A, with her car at Sunderland Royal Hospital on August 23, 2006.

If Murwira’s fitness to practice is deemed impaired by reason of her misconduct, she could face being struck off.

The hearing at Nursing and Midwifery Council in central London will now resume on a day to be fixed.
