And thanks to her new look, the 31-year-old has been named Seaburn’s Miss Slinky after ditching the pounds with Slimming World.

Rachel, of Seaburn Drive, has dropped three dress sizes since joining the club in January, last year.

She was voted Miss Slinky by her fellow slimmers after losing 3st 10.5lb and dropping from 13st 6lbs and a size 16 to 9st 9.5lb and a size 8 to 10.

Rachael, who is mum to three-year-old Alice, said she thought being a mum meant she was stuck being bigger than she wanted to be.

Before I joined I was lacking in confidence. I felt like I was resigned to always being bigger as I was a mam now.

She said: “I really enjoyed Christmas last year and finally felt glamorous enough to wear the outfits I always dreamed of.

“Winning the title of Miss Slinky meant I had even more to celebrate and I even wore the sash to work the next day.

“Before I joined I was lacking in confidence. I felt like I was resigned to always being bigger as I was a mam now.

“I hated shopping, I wouldn’t buy the next size up in clothes instead I would choose shapeless styles.

“Things are completely different now and I feel much more confident than I used to, this summer I can’t wait to go shopping for dresses and sleeveless tops.

“I never thought anyone would ever describe me as ‘slinky’ so it’s just incredible to be Miss Slinky 2015.

“I can’t believe how different I feel starting 2016 compared to how I felt starting 2015, the year really has changed my life.

“Being voted for by the other people in the group is lovely because it’s thanks to them that I’ve been able to lose the weight that I have.

“ I was very nervous when I first walked through the doors of the group because I expected everyone to judge me, but I needn’t have worried because everyone was so friendly and welcoming.

“I’ve made friends and I love swapping recipes and ideas every week.

“My consultant Emily King has been so supportive too, she’s positive and enthusiastic and is always at the end of the phone if I need her.”
