TOTS got a surprise when two familiar faces dropped in for lunch.
Sunderland AFC mascots Samson and Delilah paid a visit to Cleadon Village Kindergarten as an end-of-year-treat.
And in return, the children sang songs to the pair.
Bo Patterson, supervisory nursery nurse at the kindergarten in Front Street, Cleadon, said: “It was a really good day.
“The children thought it was amazing.
“We had to prepare them for Samson and Delilah coming in – incase any were a little bit scared by two big cats walking through the door – but they all enjoyed it.
“The children all made a Christmas decoration before sitting down with the mascots to have dinner.”
About 40 children, aged four, joined in with the day and received a present each.
Ms Patterson added: “It was a special way to round off the year and we would love to have Samson and Delilah back again.”
Sunderland mascot Samson said: ““It was a great chance for Delilah and I to get out of the Stadium to stretch our paws”
