PLANES took to the sky over Wearside in glorious sunshine as part of the 23rd Sunderland International Airshow.
More than one million flight fans are expected to flock to the Airshow this weekend to take advantage of the busy programme.
Highlights today include the RAF Falcons parachute display team, the Black Cats helicopter and the Blades.
A Vulcan Bomber is also set to fly overhead.
Additional Metro trains and bus services are running today to cope with the amount of people heading to the seafront.
