THE hosts of this year’s What’s On Where awards could be in the running for a title themselves.
The Best Western Roker Hotel is the place where our competition comes to a grand finale on Thursday, February 26.
Dozens of shortlisted causes will find out on the night whether they have picked up honours in the competition which aims to reward the elite in everything from restaurants to children’s venues, takeaways to parks and community areas, and hotels to the best shopping experience.
And the hotel itself is bidding to be in the running after it was nominated in the Hotel/Guest House of the Year category.
Grace Noon, marketing manager for the hotel, said: “We’re delighted to be hosting this year’s Sunderland Echo What’s On Where Awards. To be involved in such a prestigious event for the city is great, but to be actually nominated for an award is even better. We’ve invested heavily in redeveloping the Roker Hotel and its eateries – Let There Be Crumbs, the Italian Farmhouse and now a brand new and exciting bar which is set to open in the spring – so the nomination for Hotel/Guest House of the Year makes us feel that our customers are really appreciating our new offerings and style, which make it such a great place to stay.”
The nomination for the hotel praised the high standards and excellent quality and paid tribute to the team at the hotel for going the extra mile to make sure every aspect of the client offer was top-class.
The awards are held in association with our weekly entertainments guide, Wow 24/7.
