An official luncheon and question and answer event will be held at the Stadium of Light on February 29, attended by members of the 1973 team and Black Cats' chairman Niall Quinn.
This will be followed by a Gala Dinner on the weekend of May 3/4.
Quinn said: "Every Sunderland fan, young or old, is fully aware of the achievements of our 1973 team.
"They gave our club one of its finest moments so we are delighted to be able to support their anniversary celebrations and recognise their fantastic achievement. I'm sure our fans will embrace the opportunity to pay tribute to the lads."
The 1973 players' committee is organising further events this year and details of where to purchase tickets for the official luncheon and other events will be announced in the coming weeks.
