IT’S gnaw joke, dogs are showing the way in our festive Animal Crackers competition.

However, the first up in the latest selection sent in by Echo readers bucks the trend.

Jackie Forster, of Rushcliffe, Fulwell, sent in a snap of her tortoises Bonnie and Clyde, munching lettuce with their Santa hats on.

Then it’s back to the canine world with Troy and Daisy as Santa and Mrs Paws, sent in by Natalie Hodsgon, 21, of Dene Street, Silksworth.

Looking dapper in hat and neckerchief is 18-month-old Fly, pictured by Sharon Stuart, 25, of Stockton Terrace, Grangetown.

Next up is Poppy, snapped by owner Lee Wyatt, 29, of Prestbury Road, Pennywell,.

Paula Hannon, of Dene Street, Silksworth sent in a pic of her dog Holly all dressed for Christmas.

And Leslie Mills, of Longfield Road, Fulwell, photographed her Yorkshire terriers Scamp and Bella wrapped up in front of the fire.

If your pet is the most festive, send us your snaps.

One lucky winner will get a table for six for Sunday lunch at the Copthorne Hotel, Newcastle, a £25 drinks voucher and a £100 shopping voucher to spend at Dalton Park.

Email your photo to echo.news@northeast-press.co.uk. Include your details and those of your pet.
