SUNDERLAND fans have flown a banner with “5 in a row 5underland” over rivals Newcastle United’s ground.

The stunt took place as the Magpies game with Tottenham Hotspur started.

The plane circled for several minutes, making three passes over St James’s Park.

It is believed that money for the act was raised through an appeal on the Ready To Go online forum.

After this month’s victory of Newcastle at the Stadium of Light, the Black Cats have now won the last five meetings between the sides, stretching back to April 2013.

Despite the win, Dick Advocaat’s side are still in danger of being relegated, sitting only one point above the drop zone with six games left.

The fly over came as thousands of Magpies fans boycotted today’s game as a protest against the running of the club by owner Mike Ashley.
