SUNDERLAND AFC fans were out in force today as the Black Cats kicked off sales of their new home strip.
Supporters were at the Stadium of Light shop early this morning, eager to be among the first to snap up the new home shirt which went on sale at 8am.
Dedicated supporters Lee Crabtree and David Jackson were first in the queue, after setting up camp outside the club shop on Monday morning.
David was delighted to have got his hands on the new strip.
“Every year I am down here – this is the fourth year in a row,” said the 22-year-old bingo caller from South Shields.
“I hope next season goes really well, and I am hoping to see some big signings in the summer.”
Mum-of-one Nichola Brewerton was at the ground with her nine-month-old son Archie Taylor.
“The whole family are football fans,” said 26-year-old Nichola, from High Barnes. “They are Sunderland daft.”
Bricklayer Jason Stokoe is a regular at the club’s shirt launches.
“I was determined to be one of the first to get the new strip – I do it all the time,” said the 22-year-old, from Witherwack.
“I like to get down here nice and early.”
