A FAMILY of cat lovers are distraught by their much-loved moggy going missing.

Loulou the Persian cat disappeared from the Sunderland home of Helen Stephenson more than a week ago.

The brown and white puss was last seen in the lane behind her house in Thompson Street, Southwick, at the end of June.

Helen, who has been Loulou’s owner for 12 years, said: “She has a few medical problems and she needs her fur brushing regularly and her eyes and ears cleaning.”

Her grandchildren Ellie Ewart, six, brother Callum, four, from Roker and twins Phoebe and Sean Drewitt, two, who live next door, were “devastated” by the news of Loulou vanishing, she said.

Helen added: “She is the nicest cat; they can do anything to her and she is just a lovely pet.

“I think someone must have seen her and taken her in. I just think she is somewhere near by, or someone could have driven past and put her in the car.”

Anyone who has seen Loulou can call Helen or partner Sean on tel 549 2985.
