SUNDERLAND Greyhound Stadium is calling on sports fans to help them raise cash for a good cause.
The dog track is joining in the fund-raising efforts of many venues across the country in support of Tetley’s Raise a Glass campaign for Help for Heroes, which aims to raise £100,000 for the charity.
With a current total of £3,000 from local sponsors supporting the event, in addition to a percentage of ticket sales being donated directly to the cause, the stadium is keen to draw in a big crowd for a night of racing.
Simon Fozzard, Sunderland Greyhound Stadium marketing manager said: “We’re delighted to be supporting the Tetley’s Raise a Glass campaign.
“We’d ask all members of the public to get involved in what promises to be a great night of greyhound racing. It will be a fantastic event and hopefully we can raise loads of money.
“We’re very proud of those people in our community who serve in the Armed Forces and this is our way of saying thank you.”
The event takes place on Wednesday, August 29.
