CELEBRITY chef Stacie Stewart has cooked up a tribute to our war heroes.

In honour of Armistice Day today and Remembrance Sunday, the This Morning and Masterchef cook has presented a lemon and poppy seed cake to the Sunderland branch of the Royal British Legion.

Stacie, 29, who runs the Beehive Bakery at Bic, Hylton Riverside, said: “Our bakery manager Ger used to be in the Army, in the Light Infantry, and the British Legion is a charity we feel really strongly about.

“We approached them and asked if we could make a cake for them for their 90th anniversary.

“It’s something we want to do every year in November.

“We chose to do a lemon and poppy seed cake because of the poppy symbol for Armistice Day.”
