AN animal charity has made a desperate plea for help after being inundated with unwanted cats.

Grangetown-based Animal Krackers says it is struggling to cope after having to take in so many kittens and is urgently appealing for people to offer them new homes.

Sue Hardy, one of the co-founders of the charity, said: “We are absolutely desperate for people to come and adopt a cat.

“At the moment we have none going out so we can’t currently take any more in.

“Most of them are under three and some are kittens and we are also getting pregnant mothers.

“We also have some pedigree cats like a pure Siamese.

“We’re currently spending £300 a month on cat litter and £300 a month on food, so we really need to find some new homes for them.

“Anybody can come along and speak to us because we do owner checks to make sure the new home is suitable.”

If anyone wants to adopt a cat they should contact Sue on 0191 514 2204.
