AN MP is calling on Wearsiders to get involved in a breast cancer awareness drive.
Washington and Sunderland West MP Sharon Hodgson will be taking part in the Breast Cancer Campaign’s Wear It Pink day.
On Friday, October 24, people across the country will come together to find fun and stylish ways to wear pink in the office, at home or at school.
Mrs Hodgson, co-chairman of the all-party parliamentary group on breast cancer, said: “More than 50,000 women and around 350 men are diagnosed, and 12,000 women and 80 men die from breast cancer in the UK every year.
“Finding cures and effective treatments means we need cutting-edge research, which doesn’t come cheap.”
