Youngsters can see their favourite film stars come to life as part of a special screening.

It may be sunny outside, but Steels Social Club, in Pallion, will be freezing over for a Frozen-themed event this Sunday.

Theatre group Centre Stage North East, is hosting Anna & Elsa’s Summer Freeze at the club, an interactive event based around the hit film.

It follows a successful staging of the Summer Freeze at Barnes Park last weekend, where kids got the chance to meet the characters, including Princess Anna of Arendelle.

Organiser Fiona Clegg said: “Whenever we take our characters out for meet and greets we get a phenomenal response, and these characters in particular are very popular at the moment.”

The theatre group first staged the Summer Freeze in Washington last year.

Speaking about this weekend’s event, Fiona said: “The venue is a lot bigger and lends itself perfectly to this all-singing, all-dancing event.

“The concert room at Steels is very impressive and following our refurbishment of the stage for our Cinderella pantomime at Christmas, we are thrilled to able to continue to host fun family events.”

The fun and games will be led by the characters, who will also teach the audience songs and moves to use during an interactive screening of the film.

All children will receive a goody bag of items to use during the movie and will have the opportunity to meet the stars afterwards.

l Summer Freeze is at 1.30pm on Sunday. Doors open at 1pm. Tickets, £6, from www.ticketsource.co.uk/csne or 07931 108826.
