A QUICK-stepping fund-raiser has added hundreds of pounds to her charity pot.

Charlotte Hill raised more than £1,000 for the Northern Oesophagus Gastric Cancer Fund when she took on a hair-raising sky dive in October.

Now the 23-year-old, of Grindon, has nearly hit the £2,000 mark after collecting £600 from a sponsored Zumba event.

“I raised more than I was expecting,” she said. “And it was an amazing night.”

Charlotte, a customer service advisor at LLoyds TSB Call Centre, North Hylton, said she wanted to thank the bank for matching the £300 that she made at the event, held at Thorney Close Club. The fund-raising night was made possible with help from friends Lucy Willis, 23, of Ryhope, and Charlotte Knight, 27, of South Hylton, who run L&C promotions.

Charlotte is raising money in memory of her aunt, Ann Royal, of died of oesophagus cancer aged 73. Ann attended The Holy Rosary Church, Farringdon.
