SHOP staff marked the launch of a new charity partnership with a day of fun.
Team members at Wilkinson’s in Washington raised more than £250 for the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) by hosting skipping races, games shows, a cake sale and party games.
Store manager Wendy Gray said: “We couldn’t be more pleased that we are supporting the GNAAS, which we as a team nominated as our regional charity of the year.
“At Wilkinson’s we have always been avid charity supporters and have backed Children’s Hospices UK, Anthony Nolan and Age UK. We are really pleased to now be raising money for the GNAAS.”
Mandy Drake, of GNAAS, added: “All the funds raised by Wilkinson’s will go a long way towards keeping our aircrafts flying.
“Through our work, we transport time-critical, injured or ill patients to specialist hospitals and it is the aim of the GNAAS to provide the people of the north with the best quality care available to them.”
