CARING sponsors have signed up to take part in Durham’s biggest girls’ night out.
Women from the official sponsors of St Cuthbert’s Hospice’s Midnight Walk put their best foot forward when they pledged to take part in the charity’s biggest fund-raiser.
Representatives from Sunderland Marine, Swinburne Maddison and Vardy Property Group joined forces to register for the late night challenge, which takes place on June 23.
Cooper Durham BMW has also lent its support as a sponsor for the women’s only 10km walk, which will start at St Leonard’s RC School playing fields, before taking a route around Durham City.
Alison Alden, of Sunderland Marine, said: “Sunderland Marine does a lot of work to support charitable causes at a national and international level.
“As a Durham-based business, to support a hospice like St Cuthbert’s, which is right on our doorstep and offers a vital service to our community, is really special.”
The event, which is now in its sixth year, features a Zumba warm-up from Zumba Fitness, a fire eater, music and late night refreshments.
Laura Barker, of the hospice, said: “We’ve had wonderful, long-standing support from Sunderland Marine and Swinburne Maddison and are thrilled to welcome our new sponsors Vardy Property Group and Cooper Durham BMW to the team.
“Their support is invaluable and we simply could not run the Midnight Walk without their help. We’ve watched this event grow year on year and it has now cemented itself as a much-loved event for local women.”
Registration for the Midnight Walk costs £10 per person, plus sponsorship raised.
