FOUR-legged fund-raisers will put their best paw forward for a good cause.

Dogs and their owners will be pounding the pavement for a sponsored walk in aid of the Sue Ryder charity.

The event has been organised by the Sue Ryder shop in Sea Road, Fulwell.

Kath Morris, assistant manager, said: “The event is now in its fourth year and it grows each year. It’s always a fun day.

“It’s free to enter, but everyone gets a doggy bag and we have prizes for competitions such as ‘who has the waggiest tail’ and ‘who looks most like their owner’.”

Funds raised by this weekend’s event will go to the Sue Ryder charity, which supports people with complex needs and life-threatening illnesses.

Anyone is welcome to take part in the walk which sets off from 10.30am on Sunday. Meet at 10.15am at the Bungalow Cafe, Roker, for the walk which will finish at Minchella’s in Whitburn.

To confirm your attendance, pop into the shop for a sponsor form or call 548 6297.
