LET’S go walkies.

Four-legged fundraisers are putting their best paw forward for charity.

Pets and their owners are being invited to take part in a sponsored dog walk from the Bungalow Cafe, Roker, to Minchella’s ice cream kiosk in Whitburn.

The walk, which will take place on August 18, has been organised by staff and volunteers at the Sue Ryder shop in Sea Road, Fulwell.

Manager Jackie Laydon, who will be taking part with her British bulldog Bailey, said: “The dog walk has become an annual event for us and it’s something we really look forward to.

“Entry is free, all we ask is that people get sponsored for the walk.”

Funds raised will go to Sue Ryder. Set up in 1953, the charity supports people with complex needs and life-threatening illnesses.

Anyone wanting to take part can turn up at The Bungalow Cafe on August 18 at 10am, or contact the Sue Ryder shop in Fulwell on 548 6297 for details.
