Tunstall Hill Protection Group will hold its annual meeting in the Independent Methodist Church this Thursday at 6.30pm. There will be a talk with photographs‘Images of Tanzania followed by light refreshments.

North Street Methodist Church Sisterhood is holding a coffee morning on Saturday from 10am to noon. There will be a cake and fairtrade stall. This will be followed by the family fun club at noon. The next Sisterhood meeting will be on next Monday at 2pm. Speaker will be Hazel Simpson.

Saint Paul’s Church, Ryhope, is holding its Christmas fair on Saturday, November 7, from 11am. There will be many stalls including a German marketl, toy and artificial flower stall. Raffle tickets are on sale.

SaintMatthew’s Church, Silksworth, is holding an All Soul Tide Memorial Service this Sunday at 6pm. Each soul is remembered by name and a candle lit in their memory. The Christmas fair this year is on Saturday, November 7, from 10am to noon.

The next meeting of the Church View Patient Group will take place in the CV.Medical Centre, Silksworth, tomorrow at 5.30pm. A practice update will be given by the practice manager - Henny Carmichael, followed by the AGM. Refreshments will be served at the beginning of the meeting.

Silksworth IM Church is having its Christmas market on Saturday, November 21. Last year’s was very successful. Anyone who has suitable merchandise to sell and would like to take part, contact Diane Bickle on 523 5939.

The Rememberance Day Parade in Silksworth will take place on Sunday, November 8. This will leave the Royal British Legion Club at 10.30am, led by the Dunston Silver Band. Most organisations in the village will be attending. For more information, contact Robert Newton, organiser, on 07739312168.

Ryhope Karate Club meets in Ryhope Community Centre, Black Road on Wednesdays from 5.15pm to 6.15pm andThursdays from 5.15pm to 6.15pm.

Saint Benedict Hospice’s Bistro is a great place to stop and have a coffee break or homemade lunch. The NHS provides the medical care, but cannot provide the additional services needed to enhance the patient experience. The money raised by the charity make this possible. For deails, ring 512 8436.
