WALKS will delve into the history of woods surrounding one of the region’s best known buildings.
The Friends of Old Durham Gardens have arranged two walks for the coming months so people can find out more about land in Durham City.
The first walk is set to take place on Sunday, May 4, at 2pm, when the group’s trustee Martin Roberts will trace the history of the open spaces, gardens and riverbanks of the Durham peninsula, which surround its cathedral.
The second walk will be held on Sunday, June 15, also at 2pm, when the open spaces and gardens on the peninsular will discussed.
Both events will start outside the gates to Durham Castle.
Anyone interested in taking part is asked to contact Martin by emailing email@example.com.
Martin will then contact people with a message which will contain information and notes to print off and take along on the walks.
