SEVEN people have been rebailed after an arson attack which forced a woman to leap for her life.
The 23-year-old jumped from an upstairs window of the burning house in Princess Road, Seaham, and on to a lower roof in the early hours of Sunday, April 29.
After raising the alarm with neighbours, she was treated for smoke inhalation in hospital.
Investigators later confirmed the blaze was started deliberately.
Detectives have now rebailed six men, who include one from Sunderland, two from Seaham and one from Murton, after they were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit arson.
A woman was also arrested and bailed on suspicion of assisting an offender.
All seven had their bail extended until mid-July after they returned to police stations in East Durham.
Police are continuing with inquiries and have appealed for anyone who saw a silver Vauxhall Vectra in the area between 1am and 1.30am on the day of the incident to get in touch.
