A level crossing will be closed off to allow 120ft of defected rail to be replaced.

The section of Lord Byron's Walk in Seaham will be closed between 10pm today and 7am tomorrow.

It will allow Network Rail the opportunity to install a new adjustment switch at Hall Dene.

The closure will be overseen by the Highways Authority and Durham County Council.
