A Halloween activity afternoon will be held on Friday from 2pm to 4pm at the Farn Scouting Centre, Parkside Road, for all members of Dawdon (2nd Seaham) Scout Group. Fancy dress is optional. Numbers required for catering purposes. Cost is £3 per member.

Sunday, Holy Communion will be celebrated at 10am at Christ Church, New Seaham, and at 6pm at St Andrew’s, Dalton-le-Dale. An All Souls’ Service will be held at 6pm at Christ Church.

Barry Taylor, of Seaham Boot Camp, has organised a Reconciliation Runto take place on Sunday at 1pm to raise funds for the Royal British Legion.

At 2pm on Sunday there will be a short service held at the cenotaph, Terrace Green, for the Line of Reconciliation.

On Friday, November 6, from 5pm there will be free entertainment, building up at 7pm to Seaham Fireworks Night, accompanied by war related music. From 5pm there will also be various forms of entertainment.

Sunday, November 8, is Remembrance Sunday. Services and the laying of wreaths and crosses will take place at 11am at the war memorial in Seaham Park and at the cenotaph, Terrace Green. Poppies and crosses are available in schools and the majority of shops and clubs.

On Saturday, November 14, from 10.30am, the festive bake sale has all your favourites fresh home-baked goods, cupcakes, sweet mince pies, fresh cream fancies, meringues and a selection of pastries. Money from this event supports Seaham Methodist Church funds. Entry is £1 at the door, with free cup of tea or coffee. Everybody is welcome.

Sunday, November 29, at 3pm in Seaham Methodist Church, Tempest Road, a Messy Church will be held for all children aged 10 and under, accompanied by an adult. Join in the building fun, play-doh and games. Admission is free. Everyone is welcome.

New members, aged six to 14, are welcome to go along to join in the fun at Dawdon (2nd Seaham) Scout Group. Beavers, Cub Scout and Scout meetings on Friday evenings in the headquarters, the Farn Scouting Centre, Parkside Road, Seaham.
