Holy Communion is held every Wednesday at 10am in Christ Church, Station Road, New Seaham. On Sunday, the last Sunday after Trinity, Holy Communion will be celebrated at 10am at Christ Church with evening prayer at 6pm. At 9.30am there will be a service of morning prayer at St Andrew’s, Dalton-le-Dale.

This Wednesday, the Seaham Branch of the Royal British Legion will meet at 7.30pm in the Farm Scouting Centre, Parkside Road, just west of the Fire Station. New members welcome. You don’t need to have been Service personnel to be part of the team.

On Thursday, Seaton Community Centre is hosting a coffee morning at 7pm with a presentation by East Durham Heritage Group. Entrance is £2 with raffle. All welcome.

The next ever-popular monthly lunch at Christ Church, New Seaham, will be served on Friday from 11.30am to 1pm. Take along your friends and have a flutter on the tombola.

Seaham Methodist Church, Tempest Road, will hold a Messy Church for children 10 years and under, accompanied by an adult, at 3pm on Sunday. Join in the building fun, play-doh and games. Admission is free. Everyone is welcome.

Next Tuesday, October 27, at 7pm, Mrs I Farrell will preside at the evening service in Seaham Spiritualist Church, Vane Terrace. Entrance is £3.50.

A Macmillan Cancer Support drop-in is being will be held in St John’s Primary Care Centre on Monday mornings, except bank holidays. It will be a good opportunity to talk through concerns. For further information, contact Karen Jones on 5874500 or 0800 7834056.

Bradbury House Day Centre organises the Memory Lane Cafe, which is held the first Wednesday of every month, from noon to 3pm in the Jubilee Centre and also on the third Monday of the month, from 6pm to 9pm in McCrae House Centre, Murton.

Dawdon (2nd Seaham) Scout Group will hold a Halloween activity afternoon on Friday, October 30, between 2pm to 4pm in the Farn Scouting Centre, Parkside Road. Fancy dress is optional, cost £3. For catering purposes let group members expect to attend.

Bradbury House Day Centre will hold a coffee morning and table-top sale in the Jubilee Centre on the fourth Wednesday of every month from 10am to noon.

Bradbury House Day Centre is again holding its Christmas Concert in Holy Trinity Church, Murton, on Tuesday, December 1, at 6pm. Entertainment will be given by Durham Constabulary Male Voice Choir and a local school choir. Tickets are £5.

At the meeting of Seaham Centre Townswomen’s Guild held on October 13, Mrs B Parkinson presided, Mrs M Eilbeck read the minutes of the last meeting and Mrs L Burns gave the financial report. Members enjoy the talk of Behind the Veil by Ingrid Vilner. The competition for a miniature clock was won by LO Burns. The next meeting will be held at 7pm on November 10 in Dawdon Community Centre. Visitors are welcome.
