Seaham Carnival still attracts the crowds
The annual event spanned, which kicked off on Friday, has already saw thousands of people of all ages head to the coast.
On offer is a range of fairground rides for thrill seekers, performances for music fans, a variety of stalls and children’s entertainers.

Hide AdDespite the weather being slightly unkind, today, visitors took it all in their stride with many pitching tents to shelter from the rain as artists took to the stage.
Amongst those performing, today were Seaham Music Academy, Thieves of Liberty and The Rollin Stoned.
Michelle Wilson, from Seaham said: “I come down every year with the family. It’s quite entertaining for the bairns. And that’s what it’s all about.
“It’s something the kids look forward to every year.”
Adam Hesslewood travelled from South Hetton with his children Joseph, five and Susan, two.

Hide AdHe said: “The rain didn’t stop us from coming down, all we did was wait until it cleared up in the afternoon. The kids were really looking forward to it.
“We always have a fantastic time and come to the Seaham Carnival every year.”
Joseph added his favourite part of the carnival was the rides.”
A spokesman for Seaham Music Academy said: “We have a number of different types of bands who play various events and have been going since 1992.

Hide Ad“Seaham Carnival is one we have attended for a number of years and it has become the highlight of our calender.”
The fun continues tomorrow with Capoeira and Starz Drama taking to the stage at 11am.
They will be followed by a series of tribute acts taking music fans through to the night including: Justin Bieber Tribute, Kylie Tribute, Paul McCartney Tribute, Beautiful South Tribute, Abba Tribute, Freddie Mercury Tribute and Killers Tribute
