SCHOOLCHILDREN brought some Christmas cheer to staff and patients at a mental health facility.

Hopewood Park in Ryhope held the event as a way of raising money for Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust’s Shine Fund and also included cake and book stalls, a raffle, tombola and games.

In tune pupils from St Paul’s Junior School sang carols as part of the fun.

Hopewood Park service manager Suzanne Miller said: “This is a really exciting time of year and all our service users and staff are looking forward to this festive week.

“I would also like to say thank you to everyone who has supported our Christmas Fayre and the pupils and teachers at St Paul’s Junior School added real sparkle to our festive fund-raising celebration.”
