A SCHOOLBOY is no longer in a critical condition after being hit by a van while on his bike.
The 11-year-old was in Elemore Lane, Easington Lane, on Monday, August 6, when he collided with the vehicle.
He was flown to the RVI in Newcastle by air ambulance after suffering serious head injuries in the crash.
He was left in a critical condition as medics battled to save his life.
But his condition is now said to be improving.
A spokesman for Northumbria Police said today: “He remains in hospital but his injuries are no longer described as life-threatening.”
