THESE creations have come out to play as the dark nights close in.
Children put together the scarecrows as part of a special harvest festival at their place of worship, Roker Methodist Church.
Sunday School teacher Susan Mountford praised youngsters for getting creative after they set up a Nativity scene and put together other characters to form part of a church congregation.
Scarecrows were also placed in the grounds of the church.
“It has all been very well-received,” said Susan.
“The church has been a flood of activity and it’s been lovely to see.”
