Sporty youngsters are rounding up the competition with a winning run.
Pupils at St Anthony’s Girls’ Catholic Academy in Sunderland have proved themselves pitch perfect at the sport of rounders.
The Thornhill Terrace school’s under-15 rounders team competed in a Sunderland schools league and won the final against the city’s Sandhill View School.
They continued their impressive run of form by winning a Catholic partnership rounders tournament, held at English Martyrs School in Hartlepool.
Teacher Emma Lachs said: “The girls won all of their games and were even complimented on their performances by members of staff. They showed brilliant batting and fielding skills.”
