PUB punters raised a glass to charity with a fund-raising walk.
A team from The Wheatsheaf in Hetton made the 12 mile trek from the pub in Moorsley Road to Roker Pier in aid of Cancer Research UK.
Led by landlady Susan Eccleston, they stopped off at pubs en route with collection buckets to help boost the funds.
“We chose this charity because cancer is something that affects everybody at some point in their lives. There was a team of about 17 of us altogether.
“As well as the walk, we’re also going to have a charity night on November 30.”
