THE 1,700 WRVS volunteers in the North East can be confident their dedication makes a difference to the lives of older people in the community as the charity has been awarded Investors in Volunteers status.
It recognises that WRVS volunteers in the region receive support and training needed to work effectively and professionally.
All receive a rigorous programme of training when they start working with the charity.
Chris Graham, WRVS Head of Services for the North East, said: “We’re really pleased to have been awarded Investors in Volunteers status.
“This is a reflection of the quality of the work our volunteers provide in the North East, and we’d like to take this opportunity to thank them for their commitment to helping older people in their community stay happy, healthy and independent in their own homes.”
