BRAVE Pc David Rathband battled through his pain to complete the London Marathon.

The hero officer used the horror of the night he was blinded by crazed gunman Raoul Moat to help him complete the 26-mile run in six hours and 49 minutes.

He carried out the gruelling course guided by a pal at the other end of a rope.

Pc Rathband, 49, said: “During the race, I took myself back to the night I was shot, it hurt that much – but not as much as when I was shot – and I literally ran in my mind from the car to the local hospital up the road just to finish the last three miles.”
