THESE railway rascals had a whale of a time at a fun-filled activities session.

Storytime, crafts and singing for tots is held every Thursday during term time at Monkwearmouth Station Museum.

Railway Rascals takes place in the Children’s Gallery at the museum with Geraldine Jack leading the sessions devised especially for pre-school children.

Each week has a different theme – in the most recent session the kids learnt about springtime and growing and they planted their own sunflower seeds in pots to take home.

Geraldine said: “These sessions are such fun for the little ones, and they are a great way for people who look after small children to meet and relax while the children are enjoying themselves. “

At the next session on March 29 the children will be making Easter baskets to take home.
