Police release Metro CCTV pictures after East Boldon assault

POLICE are releasing CCTV images after an assault in East Boldon.

Around 8.40pm, on Sunday, September 8, a 15-year-old boy was assaulted on Station Road near East Boldon Metro station.

He sustained serious facial injuries as a result of the attack and was taken to South Tyneside General Hospital before being transferred to the RVI for treatment to a broken jaw.

The teenager left the Metro at East Boldon station and officers believe he may have been followed by three men who got off at the same station.

Officers want to identify and speak to the men in the images who may have information to assist the investigation.

They got onto the Metro at West Jesmond around 7.40pm and are described as having spoken in Eastern European accents.

Enquiries into the assault are ongoing and anyone who recognises the men, or who has any information, is asked to contact police on 101 ext 69191.
