Police name Sunderland man killed in car crash

A PENSIONER who died after a crash has been named.
Pedestrian William Hall was killed when three vehicles collided at about 10.20am on Friday in Silksworth Lane, East Herrington.
Mr Hall, who was 92, lived in sheltered accommodation in East Herrington, was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The road between Clinton Place and High Warwick Drive was closed for more than five hours following the accident.
A passerby tried to resuscitate Mr Hall, of Oakfield Court, Oakfield Close, before calling paramedics.
Northumbria Police said inquiries into incident are ongoing. No arrests have been made.
