THE next stage of consultation on the creation of two new parish councils has started.
Durham County Council is looking at options for the future governance of Durham City and Crook, following requests from residents.
Initial consultation on outline proposals took place last year. Feedback has been used to prepare detailed plans.
The second phase, which runs until May 31, will give residents the chance to comment on the options.
County council leader Simon Henig said: “We are grateful to everyone who responded to the initial consultation.
“This is an extremely important review of the way in which a range of services in Durham City and Crook will be managed in the future.
“Once again, I would strongly urge residents and all other interested parties to take part and put forward their views.”
Householders should receive new consultation documents soon.
