Durham County Council’s Community Action Team (CAT) are working with residents and local organisations between Seventh and Twelfth Street for 10 weeks to help the community improve a number of local housing, environmental and health issues. The Academy at Shotton Hall Year 8 students learnt the importance and the benefits of living healthily after enjoying a play put together by Year 9 and 10 students last week. The play invited the audience into a healthy living clinic where lots of different characters visited to get advice from the professionals. The Year 8 students also learned a ton of facts about what it means to live healthily - hopefully it may have inspired a few of them to put down the chocolate bar and pick up a piece of fruit instead.
